MEET THE AUTHOR COMES TO ZOOM!
Meet Judy Batalion, author of The Light of Days
The Light of Days tells one of the most moving stories of WWII: witness to the destruction of their families and communities, a group of Jewish women in Poland, some of them just teenagers, transformed Jewish youth groups into resistance cells to fight the Nazis. These “ghetto girls” did whatever was necessary to achieve their goals, anything from blowing up train lines to bribing and enticing Nazi soldiers. This powerful and inspiring book has been optioned by Steven Spielberg for a major motion picture.
Judy Batalion was born and raised in Montreal and is fluent in Yiddish and Hebrew. She has written two previous books as well as pieces for magazines, The New York Times, and The Washington Post.
