And let them make Me a Sanctuary that I may dwell among them. – Exodus 25:8
Shalom and welcome to Congregation Torat El! We are delighted to have you join our congregational family and look forward to getting to know you and your family in the years to come!
This is an historic time in the life of our newly formed congregation. A product of the recent unification of two vibrant and dynamic Conservative synagogues, Congregation Torat El is beginning a new chapter in our community’s long and rich history. Literally meaning “The Torah of God,” Torat El is a Kehillah Kedosha, a congregation striving to be warm, welcoming and holy in ways that are meaningful, relevant, and filled with purpose.
As a diverse community, we have multiple points of entry for members to connect with the Torat El family. Our social, educational, and religious services and programs seek to create space for our members across demographic lines and areas of interest in an effort to bring the wisdom, joy and beauty of Judaism into the daily lives of our members, and to nurture and support each individual along his or her Jewish journey.
Congregation Torat El is also a community that cares deeply for its members, celebrating together in times of joy and comforting one another in times of sorrow. We are continually working on making our synagogue a place that our members can feel proud to call “home.”
Thank you so much for joining us at this exciting time as we work together to build and strengthen this holy community! We invite you to get involved, and to take advantage of all that Congregation Torat El has to offer. We rely on the active participation of all of our members, and we look forward to getting to know you and the gifts you bring to this community.
I hope to meet you personally sometime soon. Please come and introduce yourself at services or during the week at my office, and feel free to contact me via e-mail or phone at any time.
B’shalom,
Rabbi Aaron Schonbrun
