Tuesday Morning Torah – September 12, 2017

We are just ten days away from Rosh Hashanah and the start of a New Year. Please remember to join us this coming Saturday night at 8pm for our Selichot program. We will be watching the comedy Defending your Life (Albert Brooks and Meryl Streep) and discussing its relevance to the themes of these upcoming Days Of Awe. This will be followed by a brief evening service as we prepare ourselves spiritually to enter into these most sacred days.

Below are a two tools to help you prepare for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. I invite you to take a few minutes this week to explore these resources and see how they apply to your Jewish journey heading into 5778!

1. Check out the “Makor Initiative” by Valley Beth Shalom in Los Angeles. It’s goals are to help us learn our eternal truths, tap into our core selves, connect to those we care for and grow through acts of loving-kindness. Learn more by clicking here.
2. Jewels Of Elul: For the past few weeks, I have been receiving one of these messages for Elul in my inbox. Click here to participate, or go back and read some brief, inspirational thoughts for this time of year.

Good luck and may this be a happy and healthy meaningful year to all. Shanah Tovah!
