This is a bittersweet time in the Jewish Calendar. Yesterday was Yom Hashoah- Holocaust Remembrance Day. On Sunday we gathered as a community to remember those who perished in the Holocaust. As Helen Terris and Eva Wiener shared their memories with multiple generations in our sanctuary, we collectively vowed never to forget this dark chapter in our history.
And in just one week, next Monday and Tuesday (4/15-16) we will commemorate Yom Hazkaron (Israel’s Day of Remembrance) and celebrate Yom Ha’atzmaut (Israel’s Independence Day) as Israel turns 65!
